Please arrive a few minutes early so the session can start on time.
Five wines, poured and explained one after the other.
A selection of tapas, chosen to go with each of them.
It is a sit-down tasting of about two hours, indoors, and a good plan for an evening when the weather has decided against you.
Eat something beforehand if five wines on a light stomach is not your idea of a good evening. The tapas are pairings, not a dinner.
If you have an allergy or something you do not eat, write it in the comments box of the booking form: what you put there reaches the organiser before the day.
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the activity.

Five wines, and a province most people do not know makes any
Andalusia means sherry to most visitors, and sherry comes from Cadiz. The province of Seville makes wine too — fortified, white, red, sweet and a liqueur to finish — and almost none of it leaves the region. This tasting works through five of them in about two hours, each with the tapa chosen to go with it.
Down the river, then up into the hills
The order follows the map. It opens with a fortified wine from the lower Guadalquivir, dry and built on the river, and moves to a white from the Aljarafe, the high ground west of the city, which is the fresher and more aromatic of the two.
The Sierra Norte and the Sierra Sur
Then north, into the holm-oak country of the Sierra Norte, for a red with some weight to it; and south, to the valleys of the Sierra Sur, for a sweet wine that is the surprise of the evening for most people who come.
And a liqueur from the Campiña
The tasting closes in the farming country east of Seville with a liqueur, aromatic and warm, of the kind that is still made locally and still drunk after lunch on a Sunday.
Small groups, and someone who knows
It is a sit-down session for a small number of people, which means you can ask questions and get answers rather than a script. Each glass comes with its pairing, and by the fifth you will have a clear idea of what this province actually produces.

No. The tapas are pairings rather than dinner, so eat something beforehand or plan to eat afterwards.
English or Spanish. You choose the language on the booking form.
It is aimed at exactly that. The five wines are chosen to show what the province makes rather than to test anyone, and questions are the point of a small group.
Yes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the activity.
Planning your tasting
Practical questions about the wines of the province, useful background before you travel.
It does, and it has since Roman times, but production is small and most of it is drunk locally, so it rarely turns up on a wine list abroad. That is precisely why a tasting is the practical way to meet it.
The raised ground immediately west of Seville, across the river, planted with olives and vines since antiquity. It gives the whites, and it is also where the city has always gone to escape the summer.
No. Sherry comes from the triangle around Jerez, in the province of Cadiz. There is a fortified wine in this tasting, from the lower Guadalquivir, which is a relative rather than the same thing.
A cold fino or manzanilla with anything fried, which is the local reflex and hard to improve on. For red, ask what is from the Sierra Norte and see what happens.
Early evening, before the city sits down to eat. It also works well as a plan for a hot afternoon or a rainy day, being the one activity here that is entirely indoors.
